EIB to provide R1.1bn in funding for Northern Cape CSP project

State-owned¬†power¬†utility¬†Eskom¬†and long-term lending institution, the¬†European Investment Bank¬†(EIB), have signed a new R1.1-billion, or ‚ā¨75-million,¬†finance contract¬†to support a 100 MW concentrating solarpower¬†(CSP) plant, to be established near Upington, in the¬†Northern Cape.

The CSP¬†project¬†was being cofinanced by the African¬†Development Bank, Agence Fran√ßaise de D√©veloppement, the Clean Technology Fund, German government-owned¬†development bank¬†KfW¬†and the World¬†Bank. ¬†Read more…
